How many times have you been so excited to see just how many presents were piled under your Christmas tree on the morning of December 25 with your name on them? It brings back the excitement, the rush, and the joy you felt just thinking about it. Right?
Now, think about how many families have awakened to nothing - no tree, no presents, and no excitement - on those same mornings.
Michael and I, along with the support of several friends, have decided that Christmas is not going to be all about us anymore. We have enjoyed several incredible Christmas mornings, with more gifts than we could imagine and the wonderful comforts of being spoiled for the past 18 years. Now, we have decided that the greatest gift we could recieve would be to give up our Christmas to put joy into the hearts and onto the faces of others. There is nothing like the joy on a mother's face when she realizes that someone else cares enough about her family, even without knowing her, to assure that her children are provided the essentials of a Christmas morning that we have enjoyed so many times before. How about the memories those children will carry with them for the rest of their lives? The only way to make change happen is to start it yourself. We want to change the face of Christmas forever.
So, how can you become a part of this? The first step you can take is joining our Facebook group, Give YOUR Christmas To Another. Be sure to tell all your friends to join, too! The main goal here is that we are giving our Christmas entirely to others - ask your family and friends not to buy gifts for you, but instead to dedicate your share to a Charity or a family in need. We can make this happen, and we need all the support we can get. Spread the word!
